Division of Correction

Providing fair, firm, consistent and superior correctional services for Arkansas

Constituent Services

When inmates are sentenced to the Arkansas Division of Correction, they go through an intake process that includes explanations of the rules and operations of the division. Since their family and friends do not have the benefit of this orientation, the agency has created a Constituent Services Office within the Public Information Office to help answer questions and address their concerns.

The Constituent Services Office acts as a point of contact for family members, advocates, and other concerned citizens who are interested in reporting complaints on behalf of offenders. This office handles non-criminal complaints about conditions of confinement. By working to resolve legitimate issues of concern, communication between the agency and the families and friends of inmates can be enhanced. Oftentimes, simply providing accurate information about inmate housing, transfers, visitation, programs and disciplinary actions can ease many concerns.

In an effort to inform the public about the operations of the ADC and nature of its facilities, the agency offers Group Tours of some of the prisons. Certain educational institutions, civic, and community groups can inquire about the availability of group tours by contacting the Constituent Services Office. Normally, tours are available Monday through Friday at 9:00 a.m. or 1:00 p.m.

All requests for group tours must be sent to the Public Information Office.

The Constituent Services Office can be contacted at 870-267-6385, at ADC.Public.Information@doc.arkansas.gov or through the mail at 6814 Princeton Pike, Pine Bluff, AR 71602.
