Internship Program

The Arkansas Department of Corrections (AR DOC) offers exciting opportunities for college students who want to develop relevant skills in a collaborative, dynamic, and fast-paced environment. Student interns gain real-world experience in the corrections field.

Students work with AR DOC’s diverse workforce in prisons, community correction centers, and supervision offices across the state. 

AR DOC internship opportunities enrich students’ knowledge and their ability to navigate complex and sensitive situations. Additionally, enhancing critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills, which are essential for professionals in these interconnected fields.

Student Qualification

  • Enrolled in an accredited university.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Mature, reliable, dependable individuals able to relate to a variety of people.
  • Ability to develop supportive relationships with individuals while maintaining objectivity.
  • Ability to communicate information in verbal and written form.
  • Successfully pass background check
