Social media outreach/recruitment campaign recognized for excellence

The Arkansas Department of Corrections (DOC) has received an international award’s highest honor for its outreach and recruitment campaign – Arkansas DOC Family.

The DOC’s social media campaign was recognized with the Award of Excellence in the Government Content & Marketing category at the 2022 Communicator Awards. The Arkansas DOC Family campaign launched in 2020 and has been applied to all DOC marketing, recruitment and staff appreciation efforts.

“It is important that our staff know that we celebrate them, that we value them and that we are proud of them. Whatever their role is in our family, we are highlighting the work they do and the communities they serve,” said Corrections Secretary Solomon Graves. “It is important to tell our stories and to make sure that the communities we’re apart of all over Arkansas know the contributions we are making in their communities.”

The winners of the 28th Annual Communicator Awards were announced by the Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts. With over 4,000 entries received from across the United States and around the world, the Communicator Awards is the largest and most competitive awards program honoring creative excellence for communications professionals.

The Department’s website, doc.arkansas.gov, was recognized with the Award of Excellence in the Government Website category at the 2021 Communicator Awards.

The Arkansas DOC Family campaign spotlights employees who are working to change lives and to facilitate public safety through rehabilitation, offender supervision, facility operation and administrative support. The campaign includes lively content highlighting DOC employees from the Division of Correction, the Division of Community Correction, the Arkansas Correctional School District, and the DOC’s Boards and Commissions.
