DOC Reentry Week 2022

Posted by Manda Bass on April 22, 2022

Gov. Asa Hutchinson proclaimed April 26th to April 30th, 2022, Reentry Awareness Week. Gov. Hutchinson stated, “Reentry provides offenders with the tools necessary to turn away from criminal behavior and embrace a better future where they are contributing to society and taking care of families.”

Every year, thousands of men and women complete their sentences and need assistance transitioning back into the community. The Arkansas Department of Corrections believes that Reentry is not a specific program but rather a process that starts with those initially incarcerated and ends when they have been successfully reintegrated in the community. During Reentry Week, the DOC will be highlighting the numerous efforts underway to give offenders the best shot at success.
