The Arkansas Board of Corrections named Jim Cheek as the new Arkansas Division of Community Correction Director. He has served as Assistant Director of Parole and Probation (now called Community Supervision) Services since 2020 supervising areas 1, 2, 5, 6, Sex Offender Services, and American Correctional Association Accreditation. Cheek began his career as a Parole Officer with ACC in February 1992 in Texarkana. He was promoted to Assistant Area Manager in 2000 and supervised staff in both Pulaski and Lonoke counties. He then managed Area 8 after being pro­moted in 2014 to Area Manager. Cheek has a bachelor of arts degree in criminal justice and has extensive knowledge of Community Supervision.
