Sgt. Jeffery Huckaby of the Benton Unit Retires after 35 Years of Service

A retirement luncheon was held at the Benton Unit on August 30, 2019 to celebrate the career of Sgt. Jeffery Huckaby. Thank you for your 35 years of service to the state of Arkansas, Sgt. Huckaby. We wish you many years of good health and happiness in your retirement!

Two Retire from Grimes Unit

A reception was held to celebrate the retirement of two employees of the Grimes Unit on May 31, 2019. Senior Chaplain Tom Bradshaw and Food Preparation Supervisor Francine Murphy were both honored for their years of service to the ADC through the presentation of plaques. Cake, cookies and punch were served as co-workers shared their well wishes to both!

We appreciate all that you’ve done in your time at ADC, and congratulate you both in your retirement!

Jerry Moore Retires after 37 Years at ADC

After 37 years of service with the ADC, Jerry Moore was feted with a retirement party at the Cummins Unit on April 26, 2019.

Thank you for your service to the Agency, Mr. Moore, and enjoy your retirement!

Robert Leggett Retires After 38 Years

Robert Leggett, who worked as ADC’s Construction/Maintenance Coordinator, retired on May 1, 2019. He was honored for his 38 years spent with the agency by being presented with his service revolver by Director Wendy Kelley and members of the management team on May 7th.

Lt. Mary Thomas

A retirement party was held for Lt. Mary Thomas on January 11, 2019 by the Construction Division.  Lt. Thomas was presented with a plaque commemorating the 20 years that she’s dedicated to ADC Construction. Those in attendance enjoyed a nacho bar and cake and wished her well as she embarks on the next chapter of her life.

Retiree Gary Hill Honored for 20 Years of Service

Gary Hill (center), who worked as the Transportation Coordinator for the Arkansas Department of Correction, retired from the agency in June. He was honored for his 20 years of dedicated service to the ADC with the presentation of a service revolver on behalf of the agency on June 27, 2018 by Director Wendy Kelley and Chief Deputy Director Dale Reed.

Research Project Analyst Miriam Lester Retires

The staff of Centralized Records held a retirement party for Miriam Lester in the Legends Auditorium on December 12, 2017. She was showered with words of thanks and plenty of hugs by several employees for all of the assistance and training she has provided during her time. In retirement, Miriam plans to relax and spend as much time as she can with her grandchildren. Miriam will truly be missed by the entire agency.

Mrs. Mary Kay Shope

The Central Office Employee Corporation celebrated the retirement of Mrs. Shope on July 6, 2017, in the Director’s Conference Room. Mrs. Kay was showered with cards, gifts, cake, ice cream, and lots of hugs from many staff members who will miss her dearly. The entire staff of Central Office wish her great joy in her retirement.

Sgt. David Gibson

A retirement pizza party was held for Sgt. David Gilbert on June 19, 2017 at the Texarkana Unit. The Unit Employee Association presented him with a 28 year plaque and a certificate given to him by TRCC Center Supervisor Dexter Holmes for his years of service to the Arkansas Deptment of Correction.  We will miss his wit and his dedication!
